"【About Yatsushiro】
Kumamoto has a quarter of the Glasses Bridge built across the country in the past. Most of them were done by stone craftsmen born and raised in Yatsushiro. In the late Edo period, the technology group of the nations highest stone bridge architecture, which existed in Taneyama Village in Higo (now Toyocho, Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture), Taneyama Stonework. Their outstanding skills were needed all over Japan, leading to the successful construction of Kanda Manseibashi Bridge and Tsujunbashi Bridge.
